Hi folks have rebuilt my electra x with much appreciated help and advice from the group. I now have an issue with my clutch assembly which doesn't want to move very much when you pull the clutch lever in. I had to replace the gear casing which was tight to fit compared to the cracked original one. Can anyone advise me on this. Thanks David

Have you lost a ball bearing? There's one in the middle of the pushrod and one on the adjuster assembly in the gearbox cover.

Ahh now I know about the one in the middle of the push rods but don't recall call one at the gearbox adjustor. I will check it out. Cheers

Just check the parts list an the missing ball is 3/16th which would appear to be a different size to the one between the pushrods.

One ball in the push rod [in some applications] but I don't think the 5 speed box has a ball in the adjuster [the 4 speed does].

My 5 speed only has the one in the middle; it's a 5mm one. The parts diagram for the "Sixty Five" shows this.

And so does that for the Electra X!

Ah right. I thought there would be one in that sleeve thing. My bad.
Another possible thing it's easy to miss off (and I double checked they have them this time) is the little washer that goes on the top-hat that pushes against the pressure plate.

I have to admit, I thought the one in my recently fitted gearbox had got lost before I bought it. I trial fitted a second ball and it was very obvious that it put everything way out of kilter and shouldn't be there.

Hi guys thanks so much for taking the time to reply its very much appreciated. I found the cause it was the adjuster wasn't lined up correctly so I had clutch movement but no pus on the rod. Took a while but got there. Thanks again. D
