Long Shocks - supplements question

Hello All
Rather than hijacking McM’s post, here’s a supplementary, related question.
I’m in the process of shoehorning a Bullet engine into a Crusader frame and have installed long shocks to lift the rear and Bullet forks to lift the front. Having just installed the rear chain I find the top run just contacts the top of the swingarm.
Is this a problem and should I somehow fix some rubber or nylon to the top of the swingarm (rather like the bonded rubber on the primary chain tensioner)...?
And if yes to both questions, where do I get suitable material?

You might be able to come up with a swinging arm guard using some of this:

Mind you, I've seen
roadster Bullet swinging arms where the chain has started rubbing away at them.

As you say I’m also going through these questions so I’m happy to share what I’m trying.
For the swing arm area I’ve ordered one of these guards -

I’ll cut it half and use car badge tape to secure it (just because it’s in my adhesives drawer)
To allow for more chain movement but still keep the tension I’ll use one of these -

It’s surprisingly well made for £12 but took a while to walk here from China!
My shocks arrive this week so I see some fettling in the near future

Thanks for both suggestions. I’ll have a proper look and try one!

If you're just after a suitable hard-wearing material then go to your local cook store and buy a cheap nylon chopping board. I was thinking about going down that route but I need to wait until my wife isn't looking

as there is no much room for a chain guard, be it on a bullet swingarm or crusader.
this one fits nicely

its fixed this way to the swingarm(chain has been pulled to the side to make picture)
