spark plug sooty

2009 electa efi 500 - amal 932 .

it has a BP6ES spark plug and a metal cap - see picture - and after 1k miles started misfire /hard starting plug sooty -changed it - now perfect...
what I want to know is - is this the right plug for this set up and is it the right cap ?
should I get a resistor or non resistor type

Resistor plug will work fine. Try a BPR5ES if the six is proving too cold for your bike.
Throw the metal shielded cap and it's HT lead as far away as you can.
Look online and buy some copper core silicone HT lead and an NGK plug cap
Does not matter that both plug and cap have 5k resistor, they will work fine.
