Please could someone answer my following questions please.

1. Do the frame race bearing cups have a larger internal diameter hole for the steering stem rod than the race on the headlamp casing and the bottom crown ball race holder ?

2. Did royal enfield use the same diameter stem on the steering yoke for all models.

Many thanks

Yes and Yes.
I think the top race has a 25.4 mm centre and the bottom is 31.2 mm. (Note I THINK.)

From a practical point of view, forks / stem from Indian iron barrel Bullets will fit earlier Redditch Bullet frames and Crusader frames.

Up to a point they fit, but after 2002/3(?) watch out for changed the steering stops and steering lock mount.

You can play mix and match with the head races but this is what happens with the **later** Indian steering stem/bottom yoke in a Redditch headstock.

In fairness, it's a bit of a lottery anyway. Even if you put an Indian stem on an Indian frame. There is still variation in the location and size of the bump-stops. Not sure what this yoke was supposed to be off... Wish I'd thought to check fit BEFORE I had it powder coated, although superficially it looked the same as the old one.

Not an insurmountable problem, but annoying.
