I rode a diesel converted Bullet a long time ago when I first heard about the idea and was initially keen to buy one. It was powered by a Hatz engine. I was impressed by the advertised mpg (over double that of a petrol engined one).

A five minute test ride at Chadwicks convinced me that I really, really didn’t want one.

I think the theory behind a diesel bike is very good, but I really do not like the practicalities. The problem I have, is the noise, they sound like a dumper, also the vicious vibration that cracks the frames.
If I had to develop one, I would be looking at more than one cylinder.
Best of luck with your project and keep us posted.

Not sure of the make possibility pussen the Chinese make a v,twin that a mate keeps saying that he wants to put one in a bike
I also remember a Swedish gent that used to run a single cylinder diesel in a gs850 frame it only did about 45 but was very economical (well I presume it was it only had a one gallon tank)

Thanks Guys for your reply appreciate yr interest.

at this stage in life. we like building bikes more then riding. thanks beezabryan for asking the question why. ?
diesel bullet are bit unusual. never tired diesel motorcycle before. putting thousands of mileage/consumption is not objective at the moment.
