I had problems with the right rear indicator on my '05 bullet, first the earth disappeared, fixed that with a bypass wire, then the live disappeared, so I probed around with a multimeter to try to identify the problem. Eventually I took the rear housing ( the affair that holds the number plate. etc) off, and the problem was immediately obvious ---- The snap connectors had pulled loose, thus rendering the rear indicator useless. The connectors looked dodgy, and it may have been vibration that pulled them free. So if it's not the bulb, it more or less must be a snap connector.

The rear tyre can rub through the wiring harness if the harness is not secured properly. People who fit over-sized tyres quickly find this out.
