Below is a link to a article I read recently on the net on this subject of Cast or Forged Pistons. I found it interesting and thought others might want to read it. It appears things are not as simple as they seem.

Hello Paul MH----do you mind if I add a bit more info. to your post ?? Go into Google------------enter}---"cast or forged pistons". Along with the one you've found there are quite a few other sources giving much the same info but from their own view-point. Predictably, the Wkipedia is full of interesting, associated links (Hyper-eutectic alloys for example) and well worth following. My eye was drawn to your thread because I've just changed to a forged piston for much the same reasoning generally given.ie tougher material and closer tolerances when cold. (See-------"Nicorette patch for my Bullet ?? in these postings.) but purely by coincidence. Thanks-----------
