Maybe a chrome mushroom headed bolt and screw it in finger tight with a bit of loctite. I assume on these later tanks they are 8mm

Hi,

OK, with a bit more info about your needs and what you already have I'd suggest you go for a 350cc Bullet. It will have the same performance as a 125 that you consider, but delivers it in a much more enjoyable way. The 350 is easier to live with, easier to start and doesn't snap it's con rod like carrots. Parts are cheap and seldom needed. It is a close copy of the original Redditch Bullet As a daily local hack, cheap transport, summat to tinker with , it ticks all the boxes. Many people feel they need a 500, but the 350 is a sweet motor and IMHO a better balanced bike all round. Good cheap fun.

Paul the problem here is mixed messages if you go back to Davies original post he talks about a combined weight of 28 stone so in this situation a 350 would struggle as would a 500 and as for the 125 I hope he was joking

Sofie, with the bombardment of info Davie now has at his fingertips he can make a well informed decision on Enfield ownership, he will either run like hell or come out the other side and settle down like the rest of us sitting down wondering what the hell have I done but enjoying the whole silly ride as a true Enfieldian
