I'm with you BT. Let us know what choice you make and how it goes.

I'm not sure just how many of those sports bike owners can actually ride! Most seem to go like a scalded cat in the straight then over brake and thru'penny bit around the bend only to repeat the performance ad naseum.

I think with the minimum BHP you would be hard pressed to get the frame "out of shape".

I bet Barry Sheen on an enfield could 'ave 'em!!!

Take care.

I'm gonna squeeze a few more miles out of my current boots but I reckon I'm going to go for the Avon RR they look pretty good and come in 19". Anyone know the widest that will fit? I'll do a review once I've tried them. Thanks for the support from the other noble nutters!!!

Hi Guys
Here in South Africa fully half the roads, and all the interesting ones, are hard but dirt. Gravel, maybe graded and bumpy. What tyre would let me feel more stable at anything over 50kph (30mph) on my 1996 Classic 500? A semi-enduro like I have on my F650GS - in 19" WMA? Of course my Enfield has yet to reach a true (GPS) 115kph so I am not into burning rubber too fast. The only available tyres here are not Dunlop or Avon or anything pronouncable, so I would have to import and that's expensive to experiment with. Cheers ChrisD
