Another idea for later on, the Bullet does have a number of 'lower, narrower' dual seat options. I looked into these but whilst they fit B5 they don't fit C5.

Changing the wheel diameters would, as you say, reduce the saddle height.
Unfortunately it would also alter the concentricity of the tyre/mudguard; a thing that offends me in any motorcycle. Just my opinion.

PeteF, yes it would look a wee bit ugly but changing the shocks at the same time might work nicely, but then there's the gearing would need changing to 18T (or more), so probably not the best solution.

I actually fancied the Bullet a pro was the dual seat but con was the seat was a good 2-inches higher than the Classic with my 15-stone on it. I'm about 5'9" with short legs, something like a gorilla, and a wide seat doesn't bother me, only the height does. Putting feet down at junctions with steep camber, drains or potholes caused a couple of issues until I lowered the C5 solo seat.

Well, changing the shocks would do nothing to correct the concentricity of the tyres in relation to the mudguards. It might bring the tyre inside the valance of the guard but it would still be out of concentricity (if there is such a word)

Piglet, it's amazing what difference a small reduction in seat height can make. I lowered my wife's Honda as she was struggling to reach the ground. I could only manage a drop of 24mm before things started to get a bit close for comfort but this made all the difference. If I ride it now it feels like I'm sat on the floor!

PeteF, looking at the C5 which has an 18-in wheel (110/80-18), it doesn't look like they changed the mudguard concentricity much from when the design had 19-in wheels (the earlier indian bullets looked much like the C5), it is quite gappy until you load weight onto it. Does the 'domestic' 350 not have 17-in wheels? Does it have the same mudguards as on the 500 or are they smaller?

At least one earlier model of the C5 had 18-in fore and aft, the current incumbent has a 19-in up front and revised frame/steering geometry.

Whatever concentricity means, the wheel centre remains the same whether 19-in, 18-in or even 17-in, they remain concentric to the mudguard, just more gappy. I assume you mean the look of the thing, I agree :)

If we use shorter shocks, we have to ensure it doesn't bottom out too often.
