Ouch!! £2795 for a 2009 new model Bullet Classic !! That IS big depreciation! But I suppose it's only worth what the buyer is prepared to pay, or the seller is prepared to sell for.

Last year I paid £2200 for one of last "real" 350 Bullet Classics albeit, with zero miles and pre-registered to 2008.

Mind you, to be honest I wouldn't swap mine for the new model. They're chalk and cheese!! (Just my opinion, you understand!).

Hi Peter-----try google --------------kliktronic-------------and just folow the leads. It's an electro-mechanical gear changing mechanism designed originally for motorbike-engined car kits etc.  and also for partially disabled motorcyclists who want to get back in the saddle again ( I can fully understand that feeling ). nort sure why this bike has still got it fitted though.

Whilst on the subject of old bike prices, there is a BSA A10 for sale on a popular auction site at the moment, priced at £21,995.00

A snip!

Geoff T

Flippin' eck! Was it Geoff Duke's personal commuter then? That sort of price would be a tad silly for a Vincent!

Seriously, it just shows how the classic bike market gets hijacked by the "fine art collector" types with heated museum-type garages who only buy bikes as a recession cushion...sad.

Cheers

-----------and if you're gagging at that one, try this for effect. Brace yourself gentlemen, then look at ---------------------270919447394--------------also on E-bay. And to think I once got a pea-green 125 Bantam for £250 and rode it home from Portsmouth to Reading with no helmet ( not required then) but what was WORSE ??----No plug spanner ---and it whiskered-up 3 times as well. My 2007 535 sold in Switzerland, Dec.2011 for GBP 3,165. I then bought in Germany, a new 2011 EFI for GBP4,300. I thought 300 GBP depreciation per year was reasonable and I had 16,000km use from it. The changing fortunes of the Euro has winners and losers. The Swiss dealer is still asking the same price as two years ago despite most currencies against the Swiss frank losing more than 30%, so I bought mine in Germany. I could have imported from UK for the same price, but with a bigger potential warranty problem.

Cheers all

 Hi Trevor,

Sorry for the hijack, but I would be interested to know how your EFI stacks up against your old 535, performance wise. I know it is a bit soon for you to tell, but I was riding with one last weekend and he started out with 777 ks on his speedo and he was out performing my crossbred motor easily. I am converting to 535 just to see if it helps me stay with them. These EFI's are popping up everywhere out here, Importer must be laughing. I ran into 3 blokes last weekend who had walked into the dealer, knew nothing about Enfields, and three of them walked out with new ones 2 weeks ago. They can't stop smiling, but looks like they will never get to have the highs and lows of older Enfield ownership, no more group huggies discussing your broken piston or buggered big end.

Getting back to the original topic question I think these new Enfields are causing Enfield prices to plumet  so the factory has managed to achieve what the Japs have been doing for half a centuary, new model making the older old hat.
