1. Indian Bullet, exhaust tappet closed up, lock nut not tight enough, would run but not rev, took a while to work out.
2. Indian Buullet, head gasket, my fault, didn't re-torque the bolts after it had run for a while.
3. English Bullet, centre nut on the clutch unscrewed. Replaced nut and spring washer with an Indian nylock nut.
4. English Bullet, found that Lucas SR1 magnetos don't work under water! The cover has a gasket but the screw holes don't.

On current Classic 500 (No. 1 bike)....Big end failed late last year(currently waiting for some ramp space to rectumfy)--- throttle cable broke at twist grip end after a tour of the Peak District------HT coil failed on way to Thursday night Raven Cafe meeting ---- In-line fuel filter suddenly stopped passing fuel (?)----- Water in fuel after Winter lay-over ( failed at START of a day's ride-out with the BSA lads !!)....Classic 500 (No2 Bike)...Small end failed at end of collection ride from near Farnborough to Telford ( New con-rod sourced and bike being re-built as 1950's Army Despatch Riders' machine in Desert Sand-------Thanks SCALY, your link paid dividends !!!).........

--------On Bullet '65 a few years back}-- Clutch nipple failed (Twice!!),---- Flat battery in Central Wales ------ Engine cut-out on way to evening mass-meeting at the old "Wheel-at-Worfield" pub ( I hot-wired it at roadside, got to meeting, got home and found my gauntlet had knocked the red ign. switch to the off position when I swiped at a wasp!!!= DOH !!

On the '65 still------At the Autumn STAFFORD show was a non-starter..Realised it had valve seat recession, and in front of a coach-load of lads from South Wales as well !!..Naturally they gave plenty of "Verbal" help !! ( Tappets re-adjusted and rode home ok.....Cyl. Head exchanged by Watsonians as part of a product re-call by the factory )

The only time I never got home was around two months ago; puncture and melted wiring. Was fed up with things so git a lift from the RAC.

Amal Mk1 Carb, the needle spring clip came out of its groove. Gradually ran worse and worse until it finally wouldn't start. The needle was so far out I'm surprised it ran as long as it did!
