Hi,
Not stemmed the flow yet, still seems to be a leak - had applied a spot of JBWeld where there seemed to be some 'leak' but noticed more on the fin below (but slightly less - hopefully this isnt because all the oil has leaked out and less to leak!) - so will have another look to see if I can improve things.....
Still made a good excuse to go for a ride and potter about - lovely ride along some fenland byways...hopefully I am not making roads to oily!

Hi guys----------- I've just had a close look at a spare head on my bench and it seems most likely that the porosity IS in the area you originally thought ie}--- within the well that houses the exhaust valve, springs etc...It's normally caused when the molten Aluminium is being cast and gasses get trapped as the liquid metal solidifies...So you basically have two choices----- Leave well alone and stem the leak as best you can------------- OR}-- Head off and look for a more permanent solution.. I know which one I'd be doing !!!!

Has JBWeld done the trick....? I have spent some time putting some on the head, where it seemed to be leaking from' and after letting it cure (and then being away for a week or so for work) have finally been on a small run - 10-20miles - and on return no oil near the spark plug. Fingers crossed it's sorted; it seemed odd to come back and no oil seeping/laying on the fin and I did check there was oil in the sump before leaving. Wonder if 10-20miles is enough to tell. So a positive sign. Mark
