From lucky but cold Fred……. I think I may have solved the LED indicator bulb enigma. Having taken the bulb out and looking at the markings on the base of the bulb I noted “12VAC”. I tried another LED bulb with no markings on it and low & behold when switched to the left indicators the bulb did not light up, as every one said……... So an AC LED is the answer……Quote ” These LED bulbs have an internal bridge rectifier, which allows them to be used with both direct current (DC) and alternating current (AC). This means that they are non-polarity and will therefore work whichever way your circuit is wired.” ---From Google…..Aint technology marvelous……

I can’t remember where on ebay I got them from but I think I must have been just plain old lucky. BTW THE SOCKETS ARE BA9s. …. I’m sure that someone better versed in searching than I am will be able to find some and make some people happy…………. Regards serendipitous iced up Fred……. Ps it’s -3 degrees now!!!!!!!!

Good that you have some winter temperatures too. I wish you a white Christmas! Here we have had two weeks with constantly -10 to -15. I love it, finally some winter. All we need now is more snow, only 15 cm so far. .-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.- Regards, Anders F. R.

Hi Matt, as interesting as It has been to read, your post went somewhat sideways, I have an LED rear stop and tail bulb that I bought from a bike shop, cost me a tenner, after I had a normal one blow during the night leaving me unseeable to other motorists, as far as I know LED's aren't supposed to blow, don't know whether that's correct or not, oh and it also
Iight's the number plate up as well even though the LED's appear to be pointing forward, however I am using the standard brick light unit. It is also brighter than a standard bulb. I reckon do some googling, there is bound to be some reviews for the more well known makes of bulb.

I got mine from super brightness

They supposed to last virtually for

ever and be vibration proof.

I'd rather spend a tenner and forget

about it, rather than getting pulled

over on a wet night cos my bulb had

failed

this one really is bright too.

So it an 1157 from superbrightleds.

We,I not breaking a rule here am I,

Only our host not sell these?
