Hi Matt - Sorry I was wrong about the slide size I recommended to you, I was thinking your bike was a 500. You are right that the richer slide for a 350 is 2.0. Regarding your suggestion to file another groove in the needle, all I can say is that there's no harm in trying! I've never heard of it being done myself, but then again prior to me drilling our my main jet to 150 I'd never heard of that being done either! And as you said, if youdo it carefully and it doesn't work you can always put it back to where it was. As I said earlier, to me, this is the magic of Enfileds - you can try things out, and in doing so learn as you go along. On my own 500 I replaced the air filter with a conical one, and fitted a free flowing silencer and in so doing totally knackered the carb settings altogether. I had to start from scratch to get it running right and that's the only reason why I know a bit about it! Cheers buddy. Tony.

I think I'm going to leave it as it is. It runs fine for ridding. When I asked my Dad what he thinks about grinding another groove in the throttle needle he said it would probably work but might weaken the needle, then one day in the rain when I'm far from home or anywhere, a few miles down a green lane it would just break off and drop into the carb... He's got a point. HaHa
