For what it is worth I bought a new engine (Indian) from Watsonian for a project bike - I was looking forward to using a new engine. However I discovered there was a protruding piece of casting in the push rod tunnel which kept knocking the push rod out of its socket and a very tight tappet guide so be aware and check it carefully. To be fair to Watsonian they did send me free replacement parts and loaned me the special tools I needed. All running fine now.
