I began building a small sports /trials car (a Liege) in 1999. It's had a relatively hard life, about 50,000 miles on it now, including being driven through river fords and mud etc.

Having sprayed Waxoyl inside the chassis members before I put the bodyshell on I still had a few litres left so I painted the stuff everywhere I thought water ingress might cause problems, including all nuts and bolts on the chassis.

I also did inside all the light fittings (it has separate headlight bowls) and most of the external electrical system bullet and spade connectors (I made the wiring harness myself). Folk say Waxoyl can adversely affect plastic wiring sheathing, but the car is approaching twenty years old and so far it doesn't appear to have done so at all.

I remember Waxoyl being advertised alongside Hammerite... Is it that time already, Nurse?
