Gordon, my k/s spring is anchored on the bolt bottom right. Another thought, the alloy extension of the inner cover which carries the kickstart shaft on these boxes is prone to cracking, is this the possible cause of your excess lateral movement? And Scaly and Chris it's not pronounced any variant of HIMaaaLYaan, it's pronounced 'fugly'. I actually like the bike but quite how it ended up being so badly 'styled' is a mystery since the parent company went to the lengths of buying a UK design agency! Or maybe that's it?

Mark, great you confirmed the retention bolt bolt position. Will check inner case for potential cracks later next week
