Hi Guys--------Hello Rattlebattle---Alan R responding allbeit a little later on as I've been out in the workshop most of the time since posting that last item at 11.30am.....Regarding the Honda Moped conundrum ( A rear engine one is a P25 by the way-) if the plug is dry then what's the problem ??.....As you already know the answer to the question then a clue for us would be useful please.....You correctly identified my clue as being a Bullet '65 and you were within the proverbial cat's whisker with references to the decompressor stuck open or the tappet adjusters tightened up......but the answer could easily apply to any engine with poppet-type valves sitting on fitted seats and that is}------ valve seat recession...... What was so galling at the time was, as I mentioned to you earlier everything was normal when I stopped the engine by using the decompressor of course...I then put it onto TDC Compression and went off to enjoy the show......If the decompressor or the adjusters were at fault they would have made themselves known at that particular moment.....The ride over from Telford was normal and no hint of any pending problems at all....Apparently a batch of 'Indian Home Market' Cylinder heads had been fitted to bikes destined for the European market at the Factory....A 1 for 1 exchange service was on offer if your bike was on the list of frame numbers..Mine was so I had a brand new cyl head assembly fitted and I'd only had it for about 6 months !!...........PS}---I wouldn't have thought of you as "being a bit dim" quite the reverse really.... can't see why you put that in ??...Best regards --A.R
