OK, being doing some faffing around with colour converting and matching sites. Both the bike and Hitchcocks background come out with RAL 3003

Their colour finder lists a 1939 J2 500 -- which is the closest I can get to your bike -- as "Deep Maroon". Their paint isn't cheap.
