Hi Alan, Poet and didn't know it??? try this link... Scaly's Royal Enfield poetry and writings. There's nothing else in the world like it!

Anyway, I have an electronic flasher and after repairing Tornado's broken indicator wire onsite at the war & peace show, I think rain got in to the joint. The next day, the indicator was flashing double speed (all bulbs working) and has so ever since!

Hi SCALY---- yes, I remember your poetic forthcomings from our earlier days on this forum---jolly good too !!...I think I'm correct when I say that MoT regulations call for a flasher frequency of 60 to 120 per min ( once or twice a second ).Have a look at this}------ http://www.ukmot.com/manual/1.4/Flashing-Type#MOT ( Reason for rejection....2g )--------- .Uh-oh, I've just thought}--- I hope that doesn't give "Certain Gentlemen in long raincoats" any ideas ?? Can you imagine that ??---Trying to operate your flasher-mac at 120 times a min ?---You'd look like Batman on steroids !!...Blinkety-Blink indeed..

Exile, Indicators with two tell tales are simple, but I guess your bullet has one? that circuit gets very much more complicated.

however, the flasher unit is wired the same, so go grab one (Get electronic, then you can change the rear bulbs for LED. (don't change all four or the tell tale will not work. do not use led tell tale unless it says it is dual polarity.)

Alan R, Another thing you have probably missed out on... I very sadly cocked up and had to sell Thunderbolt, a decision that still has a sad feeling, but...I ended up buying 'Kevin' a 1959 Meteor Minor De Luxe in stunning showroom condition, however, being me as I am, I had to add something for my safety, and how do you do that in keeping with a 1950's motorcycle... Watch and delight in my type of eccentricities!.

Dear SCALYBACK------------well that had me in stitches and no mistake !!----Brilliant , absolutely brilliant !!...Being ex-Navy two things sprang to mind}---a) Morning physical jerks with the duty PTI on a cold , windswept Parade Ground near the Forth Estuary, Scotland and b) With a tear in my eye in memory of the old Semaphore Signalling system.....
