You can't beat a good strobe set up but how are you managing auto-advance on these? Does the Boyer do A/R? If you are left with just static timing surely you'll have to compensate by setting something in-between?

The Boyer looks after the advance/retard electronically, and a much more sophisticated way that a couple of weights on springs. That's the only reason I fitted the system.

Sophisticated yes better mmmm not so sure. I think there is something to be said for a nice old analog system. Perhaps I just a dinosaur?

I trust that the Boyer system is now more reliable than it was around 20 years ago, Back then I lost count of the broken down bikes I stopped to help and found it was the Boyer causing the problem, the only answer then was a lift to a phone to call a van/trailer.
