Not inaccurate, a dying battery will pull down the supply voltage despite the RR regulator. And it probably will not boil or melt, just refuse to charge to full volts. Some cars have a diagnostic mode that will display the battery volts and you can see this happening. Ohm's Law is hardly confusing.

Jeff, why would you think it is ohms law which is confusing?, It is after all simple enough to understand.

The real confusing bit is the total rubbish written about the current requirement and the battery needed to accommodate the running of the bike, not to mention in most cases when a battery starts to fail it will go high resistance not low and most certainly will not pull the alternator voltage down.
