Carefull inspection of CO frames is more critical than Bullet ones for exemple as it is a rigid one, and is acting as a Form of damier...

Thank you all for your advice. Blasting it is then. Now to find a blaster that has done motorcycle frames near Chorley, Lancashire. There a few around here who do girders and stone walls but I would rather employ an experienced motorcycle frame blaster. Ant suggestions from my NW colleagues?

And just make sure you mask off the bits you don't want coating. It's a pain but easier then getting the new powder coat off.

Having a curious mind I was wondering how blasting and powder coating can be carried out concurrently being as concurrent describes two or more things happening at the same time.
More "engineer speak" ?

Concurrent - the shop I used put stuff into a tank where it was blasted and then powder coated, more or less in one operation. They did however take my frame out and inspect it because I'd asked them to. They knew what they were doing and did a jolly good job.

Might be worth mentioning that you should talk to the coating shop about bits you don't want blasted and coated and they will mask them off as they know best how to do it, ordinary masking tape being about as much use as a chocolate teapot. The shop I used was well used to bike frames but their main line of work seemed to be big wrought iron gates and such.
