Wow, got a lot more hate than I expected!! Did you guys not have enough rivets to count today?

So to answer a few questions, Why ruin a perfectly good Bullet, well, it cost me £250, and its not like they are rare or anything is it?

Why do it, Because I like a challenge, and I want to be different. Just because its hard, doesn't make it impossible.

How am I planning on cooling a Turbo on an Air cooled bike, well, same as you cool any Turbo, with oil.

I kinda like the hypercharger idea, but its a bit "bought and fitted" for me.

If you read my post, I said that I don't intend it to create any performance gains, I know the engine won't take any boost. I just wanted it for aesthetics, I suppose I could dump most of the boost to atmosphere. but its the oil feed that is the issue, maybe would need a remote tank to increase the capacity in the whole system.

I know someone who spent 15 years turbocharging a Harley, about the only thing left that is Harley about it is the badge on the petrol tank. He had to change all of the guts of the engine, to bespoke components.
(It is however ridiculously fast.)

The turbo on my car is water-cooled, they pretty much all are. Mainly to stop the turbo self-destructing but also to bring the inlet air temperature back down for better combustion efficiency, and I've got s stage 1 on the beast.

The oil feed on the old 350 is kinda slow and lethargic, it can barely lube the motor.

In good working order the bottom end is pretty strong but you would have to completely rebuild the motor anyway. I envision a low compression (bent) con rod happening.

If you give it something like 7psi boost it will go something like a low compression 500. Most petrol turbos want high revs, the Bullet is a low revving engine, a low revving diesel turbo?

If you want to get there I wouldn't start from here - but then you gotta ask why I tweaked the car and put a tuning kit on my Classic EFI-500. Because I can.

got for it Dave! lifes' too short to be normal. how about a high mounted supercharger! with the drive belt running through a slot in the tank!

Dr Emmet Brown markets a "Mr Fusion" device that is normally fitted to Deloreans which might be something a bit different?

A lot of diesel car engines have oil cooed turbos.

Hi, if you want something unusual do like a wright R3350 turbo compound, the turbo is used to turn the crank not pressurise the cylinder. Hours of fun trying to design that.Vince

Dave ( great name by the way ) if you want to do it...do it.. and ignore all the negative vibes on here, that's old men for you, nothing ever got designed or built by listening to the can't do's.. just promise if you pull it off, post some videos even if just to prove em wrong.

"Wow, got a lot more hate than I expected!!"

Really, Dave? Er... no, some people here expressed an opinion which wasn't 100% in agreement with what you want to do. That isn't hate. If any of us "old men" (thanks, Bertie!) have actually said anything hateful or abusive, please report it to our hosts so that they can take the appropriate action against the culprit(s).

We do actually like nicely modified Bullets on this forum (especially as that is how our hosts make a chunk of their living), and none of my stuff is standard, but if people here are concerned that they might have spotted a disaster in the making, they're entitled to express a note of caution, don't you think? Heed or ignore as you see fit.

Enjoy your Bullet, make something truly nice out of it if you can.

A.
