Does the brass weight thingy in the Tuturo actually act as a pump or does it just open a drip valve? I'm thinking of getting one but the other one I've looked at is the PDO which says its a pump - its electric though.

Well presto, I actually like using the boil up stuff. The chain gets a soak in parafin first to clean it , then a boil up. (Actually, you don't boil it, just get it molten) I agree it's a bit of a palava so I do all the chains at once to make it worthwhile. While the chain is off the sprockets get cleaned with parrafin and an old paintbrush.

Chainsaw bar oil has non-fling properties, which I have used at times. I now use Penrite motorcycle chain lube which is also excellent.

Boxerman, it just lets the oil through, there's no pump mechanism.
