the terminal (a hollow nut with a grubscrew )which also holds the end cover in place is a earth connection. shown also a pin lu/463931. Magdynos were not fitted with kill buttons unless you include the unobtainium wader version.

Vince, while I agree that it is very unlikely that Lucas made this magdyno with a stop button connector, you have to remember that over the years owners have modified things to suit in fact aftermarket suppliers have sold mod kits and still do, I have learnt to expect the unexpected.

Hi Dennis, correct of course but if we include after market we'll be here all day! The Wader Magdynos were owned by Lucas and loaned to teams for ISDT etc and had to be returned to the factory. While I can envisage how they waterproofed the mag I'm curious how they sealed the dynamo drive area, possibly they had a one piece construction. While on the subject of after market I onced owned a 250cc matchless scrambler with a scintilla magneto inside the points housing. (like you find in a lawn mower) manufactured by AE electronics in the USA. I digress.

Sorry to bring back an old thread, no no scaly not that one. Message for Vince, I don't often post on here but I thought this would interest you. Back in the late 50s my older brother was good friends with the son of our local bike dealers manager, and was given the opertunity of buying a ex Enfield works bullet scrambler which he bought. The only previous owner was Enfield, this bike had an m01 mag with a stop button apparently, he remembers it being made of a spring material mounted on the mag endplate below the points bent at 90 deg with a points type contact running on the points mounting screw and had to be removed to get the points off.
