Rocker 59 -

The machine concerned is NOT an old British Classic, but an 8-yr. old (i.e. "modern") Indian-made Enfield, making it very difficult to make any meaningful comparison.

Additionally, the bike could sell yet as at the time of writing the  eBay listing still has 6+ days to go.

Can't quite understand the "Enfield prices plummeting" comment though.  This bike looks very much like my own 500 ES Bullet and apart from the tyres and some of the additional chrome, even its listing description fits mine very closely.

Admittedly,  my bike is a couple of years older, being a 2002; however, the asking price of £1400 is quite a bit more than I paid for mine - over seven years ago.............

Also, my own belief is that many British Classic bike prices have simply rocketed in the last few years.

Two years ago this bike would have sold for £1800 no problem. Ebay dealers are still asking £2450 for them, evan the clubmans are not selling as they used too.

Yes No 59..

But What People ask for and what People Get are Vastly different..

And Dealers Final Prices on E-Bay Might Not off Sold at all but Look good?

Lastly cash is King (& I have Non) But a Local RE Dealer Offered me (in the small talk) about £500 off for Cash..Free PDI,Bar Change and Discount.(Classic).But only a Bit more off the demonstrator EFI?/

Best E-Bay Investment Bike Must be the CZ (A Bike I Quite Like for £25) ..2 or 3 Years ago You Could pick up a Poor Mans Mz the Cz for around 50 Quid Running... Now Collectors CZs are going For£500+ Non runners..

How about: 320841564796

Its From the states So Sunny Sky's No rust There then ;0)

Cheers all... Craig

Yes you are right, Bullet prices have dropped conciderably over the last couple of years. They are now a very good buy especially if you can get a good low mileage iron barrel one.  Would not sell any of mine for that price.

Well, in UK as suggested, it might be the case financial turmoil.. money is short!!   I am now in India of a couple of weeks and have noticed prices for "old" Iron barrel bikes have risen quite a bit from last year.. cerainly the bikes that are 20 - 25 yrs old are in demand. And if its a real Brit classic, then prices asked for are hight then new bikes out of showroom.

Hi there guys----- I think Peter's example shows how much depreciation can also effect prices. Makes you wonder just what the dealer gave the seller as exchange  valuation ?? Finger-tip gear changing as well----- Formula 1 GP Enfield team ??  Sponsered by Bernie Ecklestone ??
