Thanks for your replies, the large socket is similar to the photo only mine being white/clear plastic, the only single wire is as i said a purple wire in one half of a bullet connecter, the reason I asked about the socket was in hope it might have been a connector for heated grips or some other luxury. To much to ask !!!!!!
