Hi Madmike, left it with the guy at surry cycle to jet up the old carb was worn and in a bad state. its as close as a 1"1/8 , tick over is reving up and then back to normal as though theres air getting in at some point but i cant find it,could it be bad fuel iv had it in about 8 mths.

Nige, the revving up symptoms you describe are very typical of a worn out carb body and/or slide. The chaps at Surrey Cycles will sort you out, your best and probably cheapest option in the long run is a new carb of the correct size!

Nige according to the AMAL reference catalogue a Crusader Sports should have a 15/16 bore, and these are available from AMAL.


I would speak to AMAL rather than Surrey. Remember that Surrey were sold a year or so again and I suspect that they are not as au fait as the previous owners. HTH.
