A Boyer (or any other brand of electronic ignition) never has been a cure for a badly maintained motorcycle.
On another internet bike forum a contributor who knows an awful lot more about these things than I do claims "your first day with a Boyer is the first day you start cleaning up your harness, battery connections and charging system, or the last day you ride."
He seems to have a point..........
