There are other rectifier/regulator boxes on the market other than the powerbox. The one I have on the Cub is silver.

Here is one type of combined Regu-rectifier.

Mine seemed to work, but broke down within a few minutes each time I went out on the bike. Fitted a boyer powerbox and everything worked just great. Not saying this is your problem, but the photos help to identify what you have.

Mines indian yes but has been heavily modified away from indian spec with all sorts of British mods to improve it. Regulator is similar but not the same as that and flasher an odd one too. I've not found a matching one to buy yet. Will try and take pictures but have two young kids a little time to fix my toys in the garage so please excuse delays. H.

Same as mine, Changed so many parts, it's got duel nationality now!

Don't rush, just come back in your own time. Quite often, our time gets used elsewhere and the poor bike comes second!

Fingers crossed but I think I have found and fixed a several issues which may have resolved the problems for now. On removing the flasher unit a wire spade snapped off suggesting it was fractured and about to break (poor contact. I fixed that with new solder then the bloody lights wouldn't fire up? The side lamp came on and sometimes the rear lamp but no main beam or dip. The headlamp flash button did turn on the full beam however so must be on a different circuit? With the headlamp removed and a bit of wire wiggling I noticed the rear led light bulb flickering dimly and going on/off. In the headlamp shell I found a lucas style doubler connector joining two bullets and when I took it apart the internal doubler was just made of rusty steel not brass. In addition some other connections were poor with the possibility of bare connections shorting on the headlamp shell. I cleaned up the bullets and fitted a new doubler connector and the main headlamp then started working again thankfully. So the rust alone allowed enough current for the side lamp and rear lamp but not the Headlamp?
So touch wood the indicators and lights seem to be working and with the engine running the volts increase from 12v ish to 13-14v ish even with the indicators on so hopefully no shorting at present.
Much of the wiring and connections are poor so if I get chance I'll try and check any other connections but at least now it should pass an MOT but I'll probably wait until spring now. I have re-soldered quite a few joints and also ordered a new flasher unit as the flash rate is a bit random on the Indian one. My bike has a Wassel alternator & after market reg/rectifier, Elgi distributer and Boyer B ignition. Now at some point I'll have to take the motor apart as I have an slight oil leak from what looks like the head gasket or alloy barrel joints as the fins get oil within them from somewhere. strangely it runs fine however so I dont think compression is leaking. Buy a small tube of Dielectric grease. Pull all the connectors apart and smear a light coating of it on them, the spark plug and its rubber boot. It will prevent corrosion from condensation and the weather, and you will always be able to seperate them easily. I did this to my 2000 Bullet when I bought it new and have never had electrical problems except once when an earth wire locknut came loose behind the toolbox. It`s good for the bike like Vegemite is good for Australians.
