Michael: Check the wiring under the rear mudguard; even the standard tyre can rub through if the harness is slightly loose. I am always uncomfortable riding on multi-lane roads and try to stay near the shoulders in case anything causes the bike to stop suddenly. Never ride in the centre lane with a bus or truck tailgating.
