My bet would be the plug is too 'hard'. In this weather a Bullet (EFI or any other) rarely gets up to temperature for the plug effectively to self-clean. A combination of a too hard plug, cold weather, and 'careful' riding. The plug needs to be around 400 degrees C to 800 degrees C to effectively self-clean. My guess is that isn't happening in this case. (Fuel injected EFIs rarely fail to provide the right fuel/air mixture strength.)

Franky I had exactly the same problem after the original plug failed. I then got a replacement (but different) plug and I checked several times to make sure it was correct. Even Watsonian didn't make any comment about the plug when I phoned them. However, it was wrong and I got the sooties big style. Check, check and check again.

Another thing to be aware of, the UK market is currently flooded with counterfeight NGK plugs so be careful where you buy from, don't use too hot a plug as the outcome can be a hole in your piston.
