Hello all---------John, we're not related ---are we ?? May I just add some supportive & general comments here }------------ these engines are really BASIC and there's nothing in their design that gives cause for alarm, even for the less-experienced mechanic/owner. As in any mechanical engineering-- CLEANLINESS is your by-word. A thorough de-grease, wash and HP air blow-dry to all parts then use a lint-free cloth when final re-building. I find those seal-able lid plastic containers very good for storing the larger pieces. Have you purchased all the gaskets, seals, oil and filter, jointing compound, grease, loctite etc. and any spares you might need ? As mentioned a large board or adequate bench space to lay things out (away from the pets, children, spouse etc---all "enemies-of-the-state" when it comes to amateur engineering.). Norm and the crew are all experienced in this genteel sport of "Enfield-bashing" so all will be ok for you. Best wishes with the project. PS-----How about that then guys, I managed not to stray "off-piste" with the thread content this time !!!!
