The comments re Carol Nash are odd - I collected my bike on Friday and am insured on a multi-bike policy with CN. Although they did not have a formal record of the Continental GT they did recognise the bike and logged it as a 535cc Bullet with a note about the model being a Continental GT. The premium was unchanged from my older Clubman that I have replaced with this bike. It all seemed a very reasonable approach for such a newly released model.

I struggle to get my 2008 EFI insured sometimes... why, becuase ALL the insurance companies claim that the bike was released in 2009 due to their computer systems. Mine was registered on 21st December 2008!

Thankfully, and as Steve L pointed out, a number of insurance companies (CN and MCE are two) are happy to insure the bike as either an Electra X or a Classic but with a note of the discrepancy. This year, I found out that some companies charge for this discrepancy (wanting 50-100 GBP more for the amendment) but others do not charge anymore or less. At least you got something! Will have to look into the CIA... can't be too hard to find out info about them :) Anyone know Edward Snowdon's whereabouts, he might be able to help :)
