Hi guys---------- I see it has those God-Awful CONTI tyres on it... I had a Bullet 65 "Trials" with those on and it was like permanently riding down a flight of steps !!...... Have a look at the ENSIGN UNIVERSAL TRIALS TYRES that our hosts supply... a much better block especially on tarmac IMHO....

Are those Ensigns good then? The rear tyre is getting quite low and i was looking at getting the Ensigns. Also i assume it is good practice to replace the inner tubes and rim tape at the same time? Also with tyres like this i guess it is easy to do yourself with some levers?

Hi guys-------- personally I don't change the inner tube unless it's either had a puncture repair by a PO OR upon inspection is showing signs of age, damage etc..I also use and can personally reccomend SLIME ( http://www.slimeuk.com/the-range )as it does exactly what it says on the bottle, and has got me out of a scrape or two in the past...Same with the rim tape..remove, check for splitting or stretch, but in the main they can normally be re-used quite safetly...... At this stage it's a good idea just to visually check the complete wheel assy. and wire-brush off any rust showing...This can also be "killed" by applying some Phosphoric Acid ( http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/220918663988? ... 1438.l2649 )... but take care !!.. Give all the spokes a "Ping" for tension, then re-build.....As I have the equipment I balance both the front and rear but if you're paying MONEY !! then only the front really needs doing, if at all........ The Ensigns are as good as any and a WHOLE HEAP better than those "Things" that Watsonians saw fit to use ---UGH !!!
