Oh dear...?.
There is a fix which involves drilling and tapping the the broken outlet and fitting a threaded spigot.

You basically want the battery positive attached to one side of the ammeter and everything else (including the reg/rec output) connected to the other.

Easiest way would be to run a twin core wire up to the ammeter from the battery box to achieve this. I'd break into the loom between the main fuse holder and the rest of the loom. It's a 20A fuse so I'd go with wire rated at >30A.

So Battery > Main fuse > (one branch of twincore)> RIght hand post of ammeter > Left hand post of ammeter > (other branch of twincore) > Wire formerly connected to the main fuse.

Leave the starter motor cable attached directly to the battery!

Too late now but it's way easier to attach wires to the ammeter posts with it out of the casquette.
