Further up Haggis made a good point about float level

Just about level with the pip on the float bowl cover is where you need to be

Well worth checking both carbs

Edit
If you have choke fitted it would be worth trying to see if it will come off tick over with the choke slide dropped into choke position (lever pushed forward to choke )
Very comon problem people have with amal carbs is the choke works opposite to the way you would think
Big edit cheers Dai

Thanks again Dai.
I have had both Monoblocks re-sleeved on my T120R and that worked well. Maybe I'll bite the bullet and do the same for this body. It's not a rattle fit though. But I can't think what else...
I'm not one of those people that don't seat the pilot jet properly. ;-)
I can't see how the float level can be adjusted if it is wrong. I am using a plastic float and tried both a plastic valve and viton tipped.
Cheers,
Chris

Probably the best way to alter float level is with shims under the inlet banjo
Not usually needed also often points to something else wrong ( float fitted without spacer piece, float not floating, wrong needle fitted, or blockage between tank and float bowl)
Very difficult to diagnose on forum or even over phone without knowing who your talking too.

I'm off on holiday for a week today but will have a look in when I can (won't be often tho)

Good luck you will get it sorted Dai

Hi all, just to close out this thread. My problem appears to be sorted. The air hole (rhs hole) on the back of the carb bellmouth at the bottom was partially blocked.
