Are they better? I dunno.
What I do know is there's a lot of money spent needlessly replacing sparking plugs.
I have quite a few engines (some 2 strokes) that haven't had a plug changed in ten years.

All I can say is what I said before - I tried one as a slightly extravagant experiment because I felt my bike probably needed a new plug to make the idle more reliable (it has TCI ignition so probably has the ability to produce a very good spark anyway). It has unexpectedly improved the bike's running all round. Hopefully I'll not have to buy another plug for a very long time, if ever.

I can't remember the last time I've had a spark plug cease working.
I also have a sneaky suspicion that if people had just put a brand new 'normal' plug in it would have felt better anyway ;)

Possibly but the effect was noticeably more marked than the when I changed the plug the previous time. I think this is a case of “don’t knock it till you’ve tried it”.

Its all in yer ead .

Some psychological experimentation needed here perhaps washing the bike might help you. Ive heard it does.

Maybe a quartz headlamp can pierce the way in the dark not to mention the plethora of fuel additives .

Its all in yer ead Wallace.

A dyno run would show the efficacy of an iridium plug.
Run with plug with over 5000 miles use.
New standard plug.
Iridium plug.

Really? I take it that you already tried one and found no difference.
I’ve enough experience to sense what’s snake oil and what isn’t. ;)

Btw, you’ve been on the forum just two weeks and your post is offensive.

What a strange line of thought this thread has produced!

By the nature of the case a spark plug of itself cannot increase power. It provides a spark. That spark may be weaker or stronger – either way a spark causes combustion of the fuel charge. The spark cannot determine the power produced by that combustion. The potential of combustion is affected by volumetric efficiency and/or thermal efficiency. Neither of which are affected the type of spark plug - so long as the spark plug sparks!
