It wasn't until Amal got to the Mk2 Concentric that they fitted the cold start/enrichener. ISTRC that out hosts' very first carb conversions for the EFI Bullets actually were Mk2s rather than Mk1s .Quite a few Mk1 Concentric users lose the choke flap altogether and plug the hole in the carb top left by the now-absent choke cable, relying on the tickler only for cold starting.

Monobloc user's often dump the choke too
I like to have the choke when setting up the carb if it run's better with a bit of choke when warm you need to go richer if worse go weaker, then remove once I get the carb set up

I have a feeling that if the bike has done 800 miles with the choke on we're going to have some setting up questions being asked

Keep safe all Dai

I think I'd be very inclined to change the oil, as well! A case of Sooty and Sweep! ;)

Was out in the garage earlier. Tidied up my workbench a little. Was very tempted to kick up the 350 but thought I'd get a clip around the ear from my missus as soon as she heard it fire up (still got about another 36 steel clips zipping up my lower portions). So, discretion being the better part etc, I just kicked it over a few times holding the decompressor lever in. No problems whatsoever doing that, but better give it a week or two.....

I put the car's battery on charge instead.
