Hi all, can anyone tell me how the top yoke comes off  my crusader sports, as i want to take the clipons off iv undone the centre nut and the two cover studs,but do the forks unscrew or will the yoke lift off ?

Nige, the stanchions unscrew, look in Technical Notes (on this site) under Fork Strip (I think). This details an Indian fork but the principle is the same. Remember there is also an Allen screw underneath the top yoke, at 90 degrees to the steering stem, which should lock the centre nut in position.

Thanks mark will go in the garage at weekend and have another go at it,will i have to take the wheel off to turn the forks and drop them out cheers.

You don't have to remove the front wheel and if the wheel is not allowed to drop down it will help prevent the head bearings dropping out.
