Thanks for reply I’ll see how it goes when I take it out next time as she is running nice if I have a problem I’ll wait until lockdown is over and I’ll get in touch with Paul henshaw bullet whisper and let him work his magic 👍

Hi, the engine has wet sumped and on starting has thrown excess oil into the combustion chamber and dribbled out of the exhaust port. Evidence by smoking after being left for a period before starting. It should stop after a good run. Vince

Thanks vince yes bike hasn’t been used since I did oil change In September but after the 1st time I started it didn’t leak the second time I started it today like you said I need to take it out for a spin

As blackfingernail said, it is quite likely leaking down from higher up, rocker cover or maybe banjo unions on oil pipe and running round between fins to where you are seeing it......

I think it's a fair bet that it's wet-sumping after being over-filled with oil (and left standing?).

But if the engine is burning oil - white smoke - then excess oil is in the combustion chamber. And oil gets there in only two ways - down the valve guides or up past the piston.

Take off the head (and barrel?) and check valve guides and piston rings.
