Yes, does explain a lot, anyway being removed and looking to reassemble, lumpectomy will have to be another day!
Must admit now I have it off the lumpectomy looks feasible as much of the necessary casting is actually there but just unfinished, the post operation hole wouldn't be a big as what I thought and gasket faces could be preserved. Going to reassemble as is for now as ken to use it, but maybe try to source another inner chaincase as a project on it's own and put on if successful, minded if I do it now and cock it up... etc ... etc
