Was the distributor (so-called) fitted with working timing gears or was it just cosmetic?

Adrian when I think about it the only original Electra bits remaining there was the cases,gearbox, ignition and frame and the fact it was still called an Electra on the registration papers

Hi Adrian, another thing I just noticed in those pics is that I had fitted the starter button in the left hand toolbox so the toolboxes were fitted when it was still running a starter motor. I had also fitted Bullet lower fork legs so that I could use a 350 front guard instead of the silly one they fitted on the Electras, they didn't keep much water out of their boots
