Formatting for StogieRob.
Sadly, yes this forum always does ignore "normal" forum formatting rules regardless of what you actually type, as it runs on HTML.
The answer for preserving your paragraphs is to type this at the end of each paragraph and after posting any pictures.
Oddly enough no mention is made of this when you first start using this forum.
Another trick is to avoid being timed out of the forum while composing a long reply or one with lots of copying and posting of pictures (HTML code again). When that happens you can lose the post completely and have to re-type it. You can either compose your message in the comfort of your favo(u)rite word processing program(me) and copy and paste it onto here, or if you do type an epic reply here, remember to highlight it and hit the Ctrl + C keys before hitting the post Reply button, at least if it gets lost on time out you only have to press Ctrl + V to get it back.
I still get caught out on both of these.
