Main jet won't come into play at small throttle openings so your problem is elsewhere. Your general settings sound about right. I would re-check timing, it sounds as if it may be too advanced.

just a thought but have you tried the inlet manifold joints for air tightness ?? The old "spray some WD40 over them with the engine running" trick usually works............Electronic ignition ?? Is battery voltage OK ??...........

Hi Tom, thinking back, you say you have a Boyer ignition fitted. I once bought a Trident at a good price because it was all rebuilt, but no-one seemed able to get it to run right for the owner. I struggled with carbs, static timing etc, until I spotted the two wires from the stator to the black box were crossed [black and white and black and yellow]. I undid the connectors under the seat and swapped them so the colours matched and it was a different bike. With the wires crossed, it was starting on full advance, even though the static timing was 'correct' then retarding as the revs increased, accompanied by banging and popping and no way would it go past 4000 rpm. Could you have a similar problem? Also, make sure you have the correct orientation of the stator plate to the rotor for the rotation - there will be two small holes, one for clockwise timing, the other for anticlockwise. Regards, Paul.

Hi All..

Just back from a wee break in the Emerald Isle and I've fitted up the Pazon to the 535GT Clubmans S cafe racer today..

Well bike starts OK ish.. It will tick over But it won't pick up on the throttle at all... It will tick over but I'm thinking there is is still a Carb issue.

I have a newly fitted Mk1 Concentric Premium with 106 needle, 220 main and a No3 slide. The needle is on the bottom notch so raised as high as it can go but the bike seems to be lean in every other respect I would say.

I've ordered 107 and 108 needle jets for a start.

Any Thoughts?

Tom
