+1 on that. If the starter motor turns the engine over at cranking speed it isn’t the battery. Plus, if you cannot hear the pump priming either the pump is u/s ( unlikely but possible) or it isn’t getting any juice. In this case it’ll be a connector, a relay, wiring or one of the safety cutout circuits (clutch, sidestand - not sure what the Electra has). The battery would have to be totally useless not to activate the fuel pump.

This is why I love this forum, guys thanks for your help Dan H and Rattlebattle you were spot on.

I found a little vid on FaceTube about checking relays and and bobs your uncle and Fanny’s your aunt

It’s alive, to late in the evening now but a feel a nice summers ride to work tomorrow.
