I did wonder if the works Bullets were painted with paint usually used on lathes and other machinery, as I imagine that they were built up away from the production line. Purely a guess I admit............. As for HNP331 in the National Motorcycle Museum, I suspect that little if anything on the current incarnation of that bike is original. The previous version was damaged in the fire and it is acknowledged that the engine cases were destroyed. The current incarnation bears the engine and frame numbers G2-11280 which matches the old log book for HNP331, which is a pity as according to an article in the March 1991 Classic Bike Magazine, Don Morley states that his version of this bike bore the frame number (G2) 13242......... The current incarnation of the bike is based on it's appearance when Don Morley owned it and I have never seen colour photos of it prior to this period.Don Morley states that it was in poor condition when he got it and that he modified it for one day trials, so what colour it originally was is any ones guess. I attempted to re-create a version of the Works Green paint, and started with a dark green and added roughly 50% white paint, not sure how accurate it is, but I think it looks the correct period for the bike. https://ibb.co/bwxuHG
