How many of us over 40's actually want rider foot-pegs set that far back on a supposedly 'motorway capable' bike ? Let alone one with high handlebars ?
I wonder whether an internationally renowned Midlands based Royal Enfield parts supplier will make sensible foot-pegs and a decent seat for these models ?

It would have been better to have just re-built the 1967 Interceptor with the addition of a modern 5 speed gearbox. I can not see why this could not be done. There was nothing wrong with the 1967 motor (was there). As the owner of a RE 350 the biggest problem that I can see is if it is made and put together in India. I have had so many problems with the build quality of my Indian motorcycle that I have had to pull it all apart and rebuild it again fixing things properly that had been done wrong. I do at least have a reliable motorcycle now. It seems to be the luck of the draw as to getting a good or bad motorcycle from the Indian makers. My 350 is only a simple single engine bike that was relatively easy to rebuild with a good supply of parts from Hitchcocks. I can not imagine having to do this with a much more complicated twin cylinder motor. Just hoping that the build quality on this new motorcycle is better, if not then it could turn into a money pit. One good thing is that they will most probably give it a good long warranty period.
